Frequently asked questions

The important details, upfront.

What is Nova?+

Nova is a two-sided platform being built for homeowners and renovation contractors. Homeowners submit their project, Nova qualifies it, and qualified contractors can purchase access to that opportunity. We are currently in early access.

Is Nova another contractor directory?+

No. Nova isn’t a list of businesses to call. Homeowners submit a project, and qualified contractors review it before deciding whether to pursue it.

How are Nova leads different?+

Each opportunity is reviewed before it’s made available, and contractors see key project information — category, general location, budget and timeline — before purchasing. There’s no credit bidding system.

Will leads be exclusive?+

Nova is built around limited and exclusive opportunities, and that’s our goal. The final distribution rules are being tested with early-access members, so we aren’t guaranteeing exclusivity until that policy is finalized.

How much will leads cost?+

Lead pricing hasn’t been finalized. We’re refining it with early-access contractors, and prices will always be shown clearly before purchase.

Does it cost homeowners anything?+

No. Submitting a project to Nova is free for homeowners.

How does Nova qualify leads?+

We verify key project information — such as contact details, project scope, budget and timeline — before an opportunity is made available. The exact qualification process is being refined during early access.

How will milestone payments work?+

Milestone payments are a planned feature. The idea is that project payments follow agreed stages, such as booking, start, a midpoint milestone and completion. Exact structures would be agreed between the homeowner and contractor.

Does Nova hold customer funds?+

Not today. Nova does not currently process or hold project payments, and it is not an escrow service. How future milestone payments will work is still being developed.

When will Nova launch?+

Nova is in its early-access and validation stage. We’ll open access gradually and reach out to early members as it becomes available in their area.

Where will Nova initially be available?+

Nova is starting in Ontario, beginning with the Greater Toronto Area and Durham Region. Other areas will follow based on demand.
